What was the Good, Bad and Ugly?!?!  Here it is....

I can’t even say enough good things about the last 8 days…OMG, Sandals Grande St.Lucian rocks!  Okay, here is the good. Everything about the wedding was amazing.  Everything about the honeymoon was amazing.  Everything about this resort was amazing.  The concierge service was amazing!  Our wedding was at 11 am on Saturday.  On the wedding day I woke up early and had room service. As I ate my breakfast, Kevin slept. I guess he didn’t want any stomach “issues”…just in case.LOL, anyways, while I ate my breakfast I read the postcards on the KK. They were great to read and really gave me some comfort for the day ahead.  After that I started to work on my hair, Kevin got up and went to his parents room to get ready. Everything was really relaxed.   Soon after I was done with my hair it was 10 am and it was time for me to get my make up done. I splurged and had the spa do my makeup. They did a great job. My mom and aunt escorted me down to the spa to watch and take some pictures.  Right around 10:30 it started to rain hard! I was hoping that the rain would hold out….but it didn’t.  Around 10:45 the Sandals photographer and videographer show up and we did some “mirror” shots they called them.  Thankfully, amazingly, the rain dried up and the sun came back out by 11:05! Then the resort WC came to get us and we started walking toward the beach.  My mom walked me most of the way fanning me with a palm fan because it was so hot! LOL, she really was trying to keep me cool.  It was so sweet of her.  Once everyone was in place, we proceeded with the wedding on the beach and the ceremony in a private gazebo. Everything was beautiful.

The Bad…Three things. The first is only sort of bad.  The drive from the air port to the hotel is 1 ½ hours long.  It was way too long of a drive and to top it off St.Lucians all drive like crazy people! They drive on the opposite side of the road and their main highway is two lanes wide. So they were constantly swerving in and out of the oncoming traffic to pass up a slower driver. Poor Kevin was white knuckled holding on to the bar on the seat in front of us both ways!!! Next time we go, we’ll spend the money on the helicopter ride from the UVF airport to the small landing strip 5 minutes away from the Grande!  The second bad was when I was getting ready in the morning, right after I got my dress on, my aunt for some reason felt the need to say “Did you gain some weight after your dress fitting?”…OMG I was pissed for a minute, but then I tried to let it go.  But actually, her comment actually stayed with me the rest of the week…I just couldn’t believe she said that to me.  Everyone else praised how great I looked so I just tried to chalk it up to her being her…which is mostly inappropriate.  Lastly, was that on the day of the wedding for some reason the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working properly.  I was sweating like crazy while I was getting dressed.  After about 15 minutes of sweating and dabbing my face, I was worried about my make up that was just done by the spa’s makeup artist, so I ended up going to my mom’s room to wait for the WC. The resort fixed the air in the room ASAP during the ceremony, but I was still a sweaty mess while getting ready.

The Ugly…None!
